Edinburgh Festival Fringe 2014: Theatre

The Page Theatre presents

Post-Its (Notes On A Marriage)
He needs Viagra and She needs a really big zucchini!
20 Minuets of Big love on 3”x 3” sheets of paper

Ray (Husband), the former VP of Marketing remembers his free spirited Zen Flower, Alexandra (Wife), when he stumbles across a shoebox of old post it notes and the messages written upon them.

Ray and Alexandra’s journey from their one night stand to their golden years of throwing pots and bird watching are told through little 3”x 3” coloured pieces of paper. It’s a story of great sex, dry cleaning, needing milk, diapers, scotch, blow-up dolls, estrogen in a drum, Viagra and a really big zucchini!

Real life couple, Alexandra Wilson and Ray Boualy, tell the story of Post-It’s (Notes On A Marriage), written by American actor, writer, comedian Paul Dooley, and his wife, American dramatist (Broadway’s Wicked) and screenwriter (ABC’s My So Called Life), Winnie Holtzman.

Dooley and Holzman, craft Post-Its (Notes On A Marriage) as the perfect example of today’s modern long-term relationship. There is no emotion over looked and raises the question of how deep does love really go? Do we live in a ‘point-form’ communication world? And can you share scotch with a blow-up doll? There is something for everyone in Post-It’s (Notes On A Marriage) that we all can relate to. Post-Its takes the audience for a ride in its 20 minute presentation.

Ray and Alexandra’s real life relationship elevates the subtext and narrative of Post-Its to a deeper level. Actors being lovers and lovers who are actors help expose the truths of the play set out by Paul Dooley and Winnie Holtzman. Exposed truths that all of us feel deep inside whether or not you need Viagra or a really big zucchini.
